June 2007 ; a new beginning! For the past two years, it has been
quiet around Arabian Stars, but that doesn't mean that nothing was
happening! Sure, the mares weren't bred and the horses weren't shown that
much, but other than that, a lot has happened in my life. 2005 was a quiet
year, some horses were sold, others went out on lease or on vacation in
the pasture. I enjoyed the extra time that gave me to do different things
besides 'life with horses'. In my life and that of my friends and family,
there were big ups and big downs, we all get our share of those. The
biggest 'up' in my personal life, happened in the course of 2006, during
the showseason. One of the biggest mysteries in life, is love. If
you're lucky, it happens. I was lucky ! At a time I was least expecting it
or searching for it, I found my soulmate and true love. Like most of you,
I had already known Erik Dorssers for many years, ever since I was
introduced to the world of the Arabian showscene. Where ever I went to see
a show, he was there, presenting the most beautiful horses in the world.
We never got much further than the occasional "Hi, how are
you?" until last summer, when we again met on a show and finally sat
down and talked. Something clicked, and that was that. No possibility to
escape, however hard we tried. This was fate. So, at the end of last
January, I sold my farm and packed up my things, horses, dogs and cats,
and moved across the country to Panningen, the home of Bluebell Arabians
Training Center. A new year, a new beginning, a new life....!! |

In Memoriam
On March 20th, we had to say goodbye to my dearly beloved dog Dayna. She had been lame for a couple of weeks, just a little bit in the beginning. We didn't think too much of it, since Dayna was a young (only 6 years old), lively and somewhat clumsy girl, who on a regular basis hurt herself in one way or another, just by playing too wild or by cutting corners at high speed. After about two weeks, when it didn't get any better, we took her to the vet, to see if nothing had been damaged in her frontleg. The vet also thought it was no biggy, so he gave us painkillers for her and told us to wait and see for another week or two. The painkillers lasted a week, and when they were all gone, the pain started to get worse fast, so we took her back to the clinic to take X-rays. We were completely devastated when we were told that Dayna had a big tumor in her shoulder... It was a very agressive one and it was growing fast. There was nothing that we could do, and since she was in so much pain by than, the next day we decided to give her peace and let her go. She was put to sleep here on her dogbed at Bluebell, and we buried her close to Eriks' beloved Plakat. Sweet dreams my princess, one day we will be together again. Until than, you can run free and play with all the other sweet souls we lost over the years, and you'll be safe in my heart, forever. |

General horse-update
Extasia and Sabiy returned home from France and are both sold by now. Shalima El Shaklan returned home from England where she was on lease, but due to personal- and health issues of the leassee was never bred or shown there, and is now on lease to Fantasiaa Arabians, Belgium. Shalima is for sale, also during the leaseperiod. Please feel free to contact us for information on her! Om El Seshara, who's on lease to Fantasiaa Arabians, Belgium, gave birth to her first foal, a beautiful and extremely sweet grey filly by Kadars Echoo. Nancy is so happy with her, that she decided to want another one, and so Seshara was rebred to Echoo for a 2008 foal. Congratulations Nancy on your baby 'Echoo's True Love' , and good luck with her and Seshara's new pregnancy!! |

| The
show- and breedingseason
After a 3 year break from breeding, it's time to start again! Dachinea was bred to championstallion and proven sire Davidoff (by Kubinec), owned by Schmid Araber, Germany. Her daughter Shadhiraah, who has grown up by now, was just last week bred to double World Champion and worldwide supersire Marwan Al Shaqab! We're keeping our fingers crossed and hope she will be checked in foal in about two weeks. The 2007 showseason has started, and it for sure will be a busy one ! Bluebell's stables are filled up with beautiful horses from all around the world, and more are yet to come! Our showcalender includes (among others) the International B show in Drammen (Norway), Emerald Trophy and Emerald Egyptian Event Brecht (Belgium), Scandinavian Open Championships at Blommerod (Sweden), International B show in Strohen, Gestut Ismer (Germany), the international A show in Vilhemsborg (Denmark), The Lowland Cup (B) in Exloo (Holland), the Elran Cup (A) at Borgloon (Belgium), and ofcourse the All Nations Cup in Aachen (Germany) and the World Championships in Paris (France). It will be a very busy and exiting season, and we're very much looking forward to it!! Thank you all for sticking with me, please keep checking this website, and the Bluebell website www.bluebellarabians.com , which will be renewed and updated as well very soon! See you at Bluebell, or at the showgrounds! Sincerely, Erik & Josje |

February 2005
It’s been a
while since we have updated our site, but we finally found the time to do
it. We hope you enjoy the new pictures and updates about our lovely
horses! Thanks for staying with us! 2004 was a calm
year at Arabian Stars. We had only one foal, Extasia (Om El Extreem x
Halcon’s Ellena), but she’s definitely worth seeing! We were planning on reducing our stock and that worked out perfectly. Halcon’s Ellena, Khidaarah and Elysia bint Extreem were sold, Shalima El Shaklan is on lease to the UK. Sabiy Zayan and Extasia moved to France for a long holiday in a big pasture. So at the moment, it’s kind of quiet in the Arabian Stars-stables, and that’s nice for a change. It gives us a little extra time and space to do some other nice things besides the horses. After all of
these years working intensely with the horses, it’s time for a break.
With only a few horses left on our farm, we can possible even go on a
short holiday ourselves ! This year, we won’t be breeding our mares, but
in 2006 we will be “back in business”! We have still
some really interesting horses available for sale or lease, so feel free
to contact us! We wish everyone a wonderful and successful 2005, and hope you will keep visiting us and our website. See you
here at the farm, or in the international showring! Sincerely, Josje |

On this first day of Spring, at exactly 00.20 h., Halcon's Ellena gave birth to her second daughter sired by Om El Extreem. It was a big surprise to see that this little girl is a chestnut! To find chestnuts in her pedigree, we need to go back 4 generations, so of course we were counting on another grey baby, but she fooled us all. Elysia's babysister, who got the name Extasia, is very pretty, very healthy, and she's a little cutie. Since we are keeping her sister Elysia for our breedingprogramm, Extasia will be for sale. But for now, we're going to enjoy and love this little girl. |

Ghajariy keeps on winning ! Living in Ajman now, he's competing in the Middle-East shows, and so far, he won twice! Last month he became Junior Champion at the Qatar-show, and just last week, he took the same title in Dubai, where he beat the current European Champion " SC Dagash", and the current World Champion "Insh Allah" So far, Ghajariy was shown 6 times, and got 3 Champion titles (Aachen, Qatar, Dubai), 2 Reserve Champion titles (Elran Cup Borgloon (B) and EC Verona), and in Paris he was awarded "Most Classic Head", and just missed the reserve title by an inch. Needless to say that here at Arabian Stars we are extremely proud of this homebred colt, who is conquering the world ! We are looking forward to see him again in Europe in the course of this show season.... |
|
Dear visitors, Due to an intended 50% reduction of our stock, we now offer for sale all of our horses. Not all of them will be sold, but now is the opportunity for you to make a choice and purchase part of our breedingprogramm. Please feel free to take a look around and contact us for any questions or other information! Sincerely, Josje |

Arabian
Stars’ first few years have been tough ones, but 2003 has been a
wonderful year. Than
the show season started, Khidaarah (Khidar x Rashidaa) became 4th
in Blommerod in a very large class filled with high-quality horses. That
was a nice start, but the best had yet to come… Our
homebred Ghajariy (Khidar x Esta-Passada) started his show carrier at the
Elran Cup in Belgium. A few days before the show he still was suffering
from a flu and had high fevers. But on the day of the show, he felt good
and got second place in his class, right behind Massai Ibn Marenga, a colt
that had already won some titles earlier in the season. On Sunday in the
championships, Ghajariy was on the second row, but still he won the
Reserve Junior Title!! Than
it was time to go to Aachen. I quote the Araber Journal when I say
“Ghajariy came, saw and conquered”. He won his class with, what turned
out to be, the highest score of all Junior Colts, and the next day, he was
crowned All Nations Cup Junior Champion!!!! One
month later it was time for the European Championships in Verona, Italy.
Four out of the five judges placed Ghajariy first in his class, the fifth
judges didn’t like him at all and placed him last. In the end he became
second, and so he didn’t have a chance to become European Champion as
well. But…. Again he was picked out of the second row and won the Junior
Reservechampion title. Last
on the calendar was of course Paris, the World Championships. On Saturday,
Ghajariy didn’t show himself as well as he could, but still did a good
job and became third in his class. He did win the “Most Classic
Head-award”, having the highest score for type and head/neck (3x20). So
still, anything was possible in the championships on Sunday. Everyone that
has ever been to Paris knows that Sunday is a completely new day, and lots
of horses have a shot at the title. Ghajariy
did a great job, much better than on Saturday, so there was still some
hope. When the judges gave their votes, it turned out that “Insh
Allah” was Champion with 3 championship-votes and 2
reservechampionship-votes, “F Shamaal” got 2 and 2, and Ghajariy got 2
and 1, so he was only one vote short of becoming World Junior Champion. What
a success for a Dutch-bred horse!! Ghajariy
will be moving to the Middle East now, and has a fantastic show- and breeding carrier
ahead of him! I’d like to congratulate and thank
everybody that has been involved in Ghajariy’s success-story, especially
Johanna Ullstrom of European Training Center, Belgium. Now
the year has almost come to an end, Christmas is coming up, and shortly
after that, the preparing for the next show- and breedingseason will
begin. Here at Arabian Stars, we’re expecting two foals in Spring. Both
are sired by Om El Extreem, the mothers are Dachinea and her daughter
Halcon’s Ellena. Two
other young mares will be bred next Spring ; Om El Seshara and Khidaarah.
If all goes well, they both will have a baby by Om El Shahmaan in 2005. But
let’s not get too far ahead of things and enjoy our 2003-successes some
more. I like to say Thanks to all of you who have visited my website,
and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a spectacular, happy and
healthy 2004!! Sincerely,
|
